About the Role
del Rios is seeking an enthusiastic and capable vineyard farm worker to join our team at del Rios in Anakie, 20 minutes drive from Geelong, VIC. We are not looking for seasonal workers but someone who is willing to commit to the business and wants to stay long-term. You will report to and work closely with the owner and winemaker and become an integral member of our small team.
The responsibilities will include:
- Undertake day-to-day operations of the vineyard as required
- Actively participate in all harvesting activities
- Pruning/Vine training and canopy management
- Maintenance of del Rios Estate
- Assisting with maintaining the health and welfare of livestock
About You
This position would be suitable for viticulture or enology students. During the harvest period, the positions also require an ability and willingness to work extended hours. This is a hands-on full-time position with weekend work required.
We’re looking for someone with...
- Ability to work 5-6 days per week
- Proven tractor experience, and use of various vineyard implements
- Knowledge of the daily operations of a vineyard throughout the growing season
- Flexibility with working hours and roster
- Ability to follow instructions effectively and coordinate all activities with the supervisor and winery team
- Confidence working with large animals
- Physically fit, reliable and punctual
- Have your own transportation
- Capacity to work autonomously and in a team environment
- For this role, prior viticulture or related horticultural experience is beneficial
