Experience Kitchen Hand/Junior Cook
About the Role
We are looking for an Experience Kitchen Hand/Junior Cook, with a desire to work at our unique venue. del Rios Winery & Restaurant is a restaurant with Spanish cuisine where the family philosophy of great wine, food and friends comes together in a wonderful setting.
As an Experienced Kitchen hand or Junior Cook, you will be mostly responsible for assisting the chefs with food preparation, cleaning and maintenance. You will be working under the direction of our talented chefs so the ability to take direction and follow instructions is a must. The smooth running of the kitchen will depend on you!
The responsibilities will include:
- Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitized
- Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and end of shifts
- Keep the food and supply storage areas organized

We’re looking for someone with...
- Experience in a similar, high-volume role with repetitive tasks
- Previous experience in food preparation is a must
- Previous experience using a commercial dishwasher is advantageous
- Flexibility to work shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (lunch and dinner), including public holidays and the festive season. Shift hours vary between - Friday dinner (3PM - 10:30PM) / Saturday & Sunday lunch (8:30AM - 5:30PM) and soon Saturday dinner shifts (3PM - 10:30PM).
