Cellar Door & Restaurant Wine Attendant
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join our Front of House team in our restaurant and tasting room in Anakie as a Cellar Door and Restaurant wine attendant.
You’ll be dealing with customers face to face so a friendly, warm, and welcoming character is a must! Ultimately, you should be able to ensure customer satisfaction and augment our establishment’s reputation.
You will be a key ambassador of our brand and responsible for promoting our story, products, and passion for community, and wine to our guests. You will use your love for wine to convey our wines and offerings to our guests.
We have an expanding Wine Club which you will be integral to evolving and maintaining. The restaurant and tasting room are open for Friday dinner and weekend lunches as well as functions/events outside of these hours.
Ultimately, you will delight our guests by helping them choose the best wine to complement their fare.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting our story and products
- Recommending wine varieties to our guests
- Recommending food and wine pairings
- Hosting wine tasting experiences for our customers
- Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices
- Manage wine cellar and ensure it’s fully-stocked
- Train wait staff on available wines
- Expanding our customer and Wine club base
- Handling online wine sales
About You
We are seeking someone who shares our core values with a love for food, wine, and friendship and understands the importance of providing an optimal level of customer service.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Sommelier, Wine Steward/Stewardess or similar role
- Ability to create tasteful food and wine pairings
- Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries
- Extensive knowledge of different wines and which regions produce each type
- Good communication skills
- A Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Driver’s license for transport
- Appreciation of wine with an interest to learn more
- Weekend availability essential
